HistoryGoppion Caffe is a company founded in 1859 by Luigi Goppion, who, as a young boy, dreamed of opening his own roastery after smelling freshly roasted coffee beans for the first time. The story of Goppion Caffe began with a café established in the market square of a small town near Treviso, close to Venice. Inspired by their grandfather's passion, his grandchildren continued his work and even started opening cafés in other countries. Discover

More about the product
Japanese Green Tea with Cherry Blossom Petals and Almonds
Sakura is the Japanese word for the delicate pink cherry blossoms.
In this fragrant composition, they are blended with Japanese green tea and the gentle aroma of almonds. The addition of roasted rice introduces sweet, nutty notes to the infusion. The sky-blue tin that holds our Sakura is both captivating and seductive. It’s impossible to resist!
It sounds wonderful—and tastes even better!
We do all we can (and even what we can’t 😉) to make every cup of exclusive PIAG tea the very synonym of luxurious relaxation.
Japanese Sakura Green Tea with Cherry Blossoms
Ingredients: Japanese green tea leaves, roasted rice, puffed rice, almonds, red cornflower petals, natural almond flavor.
Taste: A bold, floral fragrance with hints of cherry and almond is the prelude to a taste that is fresh, lightly sweet, with the delicate bitterness of green tea and pronounced notes of cherry and almond. A perfectly balanced harmony for true connoisseurs.
Wellness: Like all green teas, Sakura is rich in antioxidants, helping to fight free radicals, support the immune and cardiovascular systems, and contribute to maintaining a healthy weight. Cherries, celebrated for their beneficial properties, enrich the infusion with an additional dose of wellness.
Packaging: Japanese Sakura Piag Tea is elegantly packed in a tin that will grace any kitchen. The stunning design, created by illustrator and designer Katarzyna Korzeniowska, makes each tin a small piece of art. Every piece is hand-labeled and hand-packed. Everything we do—we do with love.
Sakura: Ephemeral Beauty and Deep Symbolism
The word sakura (桜) is the Japanese name for both the cherry tree and its blossoms. It derives from the Old Japanese word sakuru, meaning “to bloom.” Sakura plays an extraordinary role in Japanese culture. Cherry blossoms symbolize the fragility and transience of life, but also beauty and renewal. Their fleeting bloom—lasting only a few days—invites quiet reflection on impermanence and the passage of time. We encourage you—straight from our tea-loving hearts—to contemplate life’s delicate nature with a cup of Sakura in hand.
We promise it will be an unforgettable moment.
If You Like to Know More – Connoisseur’s Notes
The base of Japanese Sakura is Sencha green tea.
The leaves for this tea come from the early harvest and are never fermented. Sencha green tea is renowned worldwide and is crafted from flat-pressed, fine, dark-green leaves of the tea shrub. Once brewed, it yields a clean, bright green infusion with a full-bodied flavor and a fragrance that lingers pleasantly on the palate.
The process of creating Sencha can be summarized in three steps:
1. Harvesting and gathering fresh green tea leaves.
2. Steaming the leaves with hot vapor.
3. Drying the leaves with hot air and immediately rolling them into their signature needle-like shape.
Because the leaves are not aged, they do not oxidize, preserving their vivid color and fresh, lively character.
If You Enjoy Tea Stories:
The Legend of Sakura Tea
There are many legends about this tea, but the most beloved tells the tale of Princess Sakurahime. Sakurahime was a radiant princess, cherished deeply by the Japanese people. One day, she fell gravely ill with an incurable disease. Despite the efforts of healers, her strength faded day by day.
One evening, a wandering monk arrived in her village. Hearing of the princess’s suffering, he sought to help. He ventured into the forest and gathered delicate cherry blossoms (sakura), which he believed to be sacred. From these blossoms, he brewed a fragrant tea and offered it to the princess.
Upon drinking it, Sakurahime felt relief wash over her. Her illness began to fade, and with each passing day she grew stronger, until she was fully restored to health. From that time on, Sakura tea became a symbol of health and happiness in Japan. Many still believe that drinking it brings healing and ensures a long, fulfilling life.
