For tea lovers and connoisseurs

Yunnan Mao Feng Black Tea – also known as Dian Hong Mao Feng – comes from Yunnan Province in southwest China. Thanks to its mild climate, fertile soils, and abundant rainfall, Yunnan is the perfect place to grow tea. The history of this remarkable tea goes back to the Qing dynasty (1644–1912), when it was treasured at the Imperial Court for its refined taste and delicate aroma.

The name Mao Feng means “hairy peak” and refers to the fine, downy appearance of the leaves. The tea consists of tender buds and the first two young leaves of the tea plant, covered with a soft fuzz reminiscent of peach skin. Harvested by hand in early spring, when the leaves are still fresh and delicate, they then undergo withering, rolling, fermentation, drying, and careful sorting. The crafting of Yunnan Mao Feng is a precise and intricate process – one that delivers a cup of rare elegance and depth.

If you love tea stories…

In the heart of Yunnan, where the sky meets the mountain peaks, there once lay a hidden village, famous for its extraordinary tea. The villagers, living in harmony with nature, tended to tea bushes with golden leaves, passing down the secrets of cultivation and brewing from one generation to the next. Legend has it that centuries ago, during a harsh winter, a weary traveler arrived in the village. Cold and hungry, he sought shelter. The kind-hearted villagers welcomed him with warmth, offering food and a place by the fire. In gratitude, the traveler shared the secret of a magical tea that grew on the slopes of a sacred mountain.

That tea – known today as Yunnan Mao Feng – was said to warm both body and soul, restore strength, and clear the mind. Enchanted by its taste and aroma, the villagers began cultivating the tea in honor of the traveler. From that day forward, Yunnan Mao Feng became a symbol of hospitality and generosity. The villagers shared it with every guest who arrived, and soon its fame spread across the land. To this day, Yunnan Mao Feng is treasured for its unique flavor and enchanting fragrance. And the legend of the traveler lives on – reminding us of the power of kindness and the joy of sharing. According to the legend, drinking Yunnan Mao Feng opens the heart and mind to the beauty of the world around us. It helps us see the magic in the everyday – and brings people closer together.
