HistoryGoppion Caffe is a company founded in 1859 by Luigi Goppion, who, as a young boy, dreamed of opening his own roastery after smelling freshly roasted coffee beans for the first time. The story of Goppion Caffe began with a café established in the market square of a small town near Treviso, close to Venice. Inspired by their grandfather's passion, his grandchildren continued his work and even started opening cafés in other countries. Discover

More about the product
It's called Espresso di Piantagione (or Plantation Espresso) because we know exactly what plantation it came from and who the grower is. CSC® stands for "Certified Speciality Coffee," an important project that originated at a time when the search for quality coffees was not yet widespread. But truth be told, it is not a regular procedure, even today. Ten coffee roasters participate in the program, each bringing their own experience and passion; their goal is to raise awareness and promote the culture of quality coffee, thus reinforcing the value of coffee selection, which has become a legacy in their own professional history. The best coffees are selected from about thirty plantations around the world, and their quantities are progressively numbered and marked with special hologram stickers to prevent adulteration on all packaging. Important features of these coffees are their production areas and selected raw materials, which must meet CSC® requirements for the highest quality to be certified and thus guarantee a true cup of specialty coffee. CSC® Certified Speciality Coffee also promotes educational and social initiatives aimed at local farmers in coffee-producing countries. In addition, CSC® recognizes the validity of standards set by international certification bodies such as UTZ Certified, Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade e SA 8000 and is a member of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). As a technical partner of Slow Food, CSC® has established a branch in Ethiopia, the coffee's country of origin and the only place on earth where wild coffee plants grow; CSC® is developing the same project in other countries. For Espresso di Piantagione, Goppion has chosen the following countries: Ethiopia, Guatemala, and Brazil for Arabica coffees, and India for Robusta with a percentage of up to 10%. Indian parchment enriches the blend with a slightly spicy aftertaste, which enhances the good taste of Arabica coffee well. Hints of vanilla, cocoa and toast leave room for a delicate and long-lasting vanilla and cocoa aftertaste. In 2018, we redesigned the packaging with Mimicoco, a duo of stylish designers who created a design for us featuring ripe red berries against a background of lightly outlined leaves, with a silky texture that resembles Indian fabrics.
