Black Magic Jasmine – The Magic of Flavour from the Far East

Scenting tea with jasmine flowers is an art originating in China, cultivated for more than a thousand years. Traditionally, freshly picked jasmine blossoms were layered together with tea leaves so that the leaves could gradually absorb their natural, delicate fragrance—without the need for artificial additives.

In this blend, this classic inspiration meets high-quality black tea, creating an infusion of exceptional elegance. It is a proposition for those who appreciate authentic origin, carefully selected ingredients, and teas that tell their own story. Every cup is an invitation to discover a centuries-old tradition in a modern, refined form.

If You Enjoy Knowing More – Curiosities for Connoisseurs:

The tradition of scenting tea with jasmine flowers originated in China, and its beginnings date back to the Song Dynasty (960–1279), when people first began experimenting with perfuming tea leaves with flowers. The true flourishing of this method came during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), when the process of repeatedly combining freshly picked jasmine blossoms with tea was perfected, allowing the leaves to naturally absorb their fragrance.

Interestingly, although black teas scented with jasmine are also available today, historically jasmine was most commonly paired with green tea, especially in Fujian Province, which remains famous to this day for producing the highest-quality jasmine teas. In Japan, this tradition appeared much later and never became as widespread as it did in China. For this reason, Japanese black tea scented with jasmine is considered a modern interpretation of the classic Chinese combination rather than a centuries-old Japanese tradition.

If You Enjoy Stories About Tea:

For centuries, tea has been associated with mindfulness, patience, and the art of recognising beauty in life's simple moments.

The tea masters of old used to say that jasmine reveals its fragrance most fully only to those who know how to wait. That is why freshly picked blossoms were left among the tea leaves, allowing nature to work at its own pace. It was not without reason that jasmine was also called the "flower of the moon"—according to Eastern tales, it was the night and the moonlight that drew out its most beautiful fragrance.

To this day, jasmine flowers are harvested when their aroma reaches its greatest intensity, and the traditional method of scenting tea remains a symbol of patience and artisanal precision.

Every cup of this blend is a reminder that the most precious flavours and aromas are born when we allow nature to follow its own rhythm.
