Indian Summer – The Joy of Late Summer

Indian summer is that extraordinary moment when nature seems to pause for a breath. The air is still warmed by the summer sun, yet the mornings already whisper of autumn's arrival. Orchards bend under the weight of ripe fruit, fields glow with golden hues, and delicate strands of spider silk drifting in the breeze remind us that every season has its own unique rhythm.

This is the very spirit captured in this tea. Chinese green oolong delights with its velvety smoothness, juicy pear brings a gentle honeyed sweetness, crisp white apple adds refreshing brightness, and calendula petals leave a delicate floral finish. The result is an infusion filled with harmony—warm like the last rays of the summer sun and gentle like the first days of golden autumn. Every cup allows you to hold on, just a little longer, to the fleeting beauty of Indian summer.

The flavour of this blend is soft and beautifully balanced, like a warm afternoon at summer's end. From the very first sip, the velvety smoothness of green oolong unfolds, revealing its delicate buttery texture and subtle floral character. Moments later, the juicy sweetness of ripe pear emerges, its honeyed notes blending effortlessly with the crisp freshness of white apple. The fruit remains refined and natural, never overshadowing the tea itself, but instead enhancing its elegant freshness.

In the background, a delicate, almost silky creaminess lingers alongside the subtle floral touch of calendula, leaving the palate with a clean, gently sweet finish.

This is an exceptionally elegant tea—fresh, fruity, and wonderfully serene.

If You Enjoy Discovering More – Curiosities for Tea Connoisseurs

Have you ever wondered why we crave different teas at different times of the year?

Choosing a tea is rarely a matter of chance. Although we often think we are guided simply by taste, our bodies are constantly telling us what they need. Changes in temperature, the length of the day, the amount of sunlight, and even the scents carried on the air all influence our mood and our flavour preferences.

In summer, we naturally reach for teas that are light, fresh, and juicy. Green teas, delicate oolongs, and blends with citrus fruits or exotic fruits create a refreshing sensation and perfectly complement our instinctive desire for lightness. In winter, however, we are drawn to richer, fuller infusions—black teas, warming spices, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. They evoke feelings of warmth, comfort, and the tranquillity of home.

Psychologists point out that taste and aroma are among the most powerful triggers of memories and emotions. A thoughtfully chosen cup of tea can lift our spirits, awaken childhood memories, soothe us after a demanding day, or provide renewed energy. It is no coincidence that in autumn we seek comforting flavours, while in spring and summer we are drawn to blends that evoke openness, freshness, and light.

Tea makers have long observed these natural rhythms. That is why so many blends are created with a particular season in mind. Spring brings floral and green compositions, summer celebrates vibrant fruits, autumn is filled with pears, apples, and plums, while winter welcomes warming spices and bright citrus notes. This is far more than a passing trend—it is a response to nature's rhythm and to the needs of people who, despite modern life, remain deeply connected to it.

Indian Summer perfectly embodies this philosophy. It combines the fresh elegance of green oolong with the ripe sweetness of pear and apple, creating a flavour that recalls the last warm days of the year. It is like Indian summer captured in a cup—a moment suspended between the vibrant energy of summer and the quiet serenity of the approaching autumn.

If You Enjoy Stories About Tea:

Indian Summer….

There are days in the year that feel like a gift from nature. Just when summer seems ready to fade away, the sun unexpectedly returns, wrapping the world in a soft, golden light. The air is filled with the scent of ripe pears and apples, the leaves begin to take on warm honey tones, and time itself seems to slow down. This is Indian Summer—a fleeting moment suspended between two seasons.

Long ago, people believed this was a special time. A season of harvest, gratitude, and the last long walks before autumn truly arrived. In many cultures, it became a symbol of abundance, tranquillity, and quiet reflection. A reminder that life's greatest beauty often appears not at the beginning of a journey, but near the end of one chapter.

Indian Summer tea was inspired by that very idea. Delicate Chinese oolong carries the freshness of late summer, while ripe pear and crisp white apple evoke the flavours of orchards bathed in the afternoon sun. Golden calendula petals complete the blend, glowing like rays of sunlight dancing across autumn leaves.

This story is also about us—our traditions and our bond with Mother Nature. Yet whenever we hear the words Indian Summer, we cannot forget the Indigenous peoples of North America. Although their culture may seem far removed from our own, it is one we deeply respect and admire. For them, nature was never merely the backdrop of everyday life—it was their greatest teacher. Few people have listened to it as attentively as they did. The changing seasons determined the rhythm of life, the time for journeys, harvests, and rest. Every gust of wind, every flock of birds, and every unexpected change in the weather carried a meaning that was passed down from generation to generation.

When, after the first cool days, the sun unexpectedly returned and the world once again felt touched by the warmth of summer, it marked a truly special time. It did not promise another summer; instead, it invited people to look back with gratitude on the passing year. It is from this remarkable natural phenomenon that the English expression Indian Summer was born—a season of warmth returning just when it seems to have gone.

This tea tells precisely that story. Chinese green oolong preserves the freshness of summer's final days, ripe pear and white apple capture the flavours of the season's harvest, while golden calendula petals recall the gentle glow of the low autumn sun. Every cup is an invitation to slow down, if only for a moment, and to discover the beauty that exists in everything that quietly passes by.
