HistoryGoppion Caffe is a company founded in 1859 by Luigi Goppion, who, as a young boy, dreamed of opening his own roastery after smelling freshly roasted coffee beans for the first time. The story of Goppion Caffe began with a café established in the market square of a small town near Treviso, close to Venice. Inspired by their grandfather's passion, his grandchildren continued his work and even started opening cafés in other countries. Discover

More about the product
Darjeeling – the Champagne of Teas
A loose-leaf black tea from the mist-covered mountains of Darjeeling, India. Its one-of-a-kind flavor is shaped by abundant rainfall, mineral-rich soils, high-altitude gardens, and the rare interplay of shifting mountain temperatures. Every cup of Darjeeling carries the essence of extraordinary craftsmanship — it takes around 20,000 hand-picked shoots to produce just one kilogram of tea. A single tea bush yields only 50–100 grams of Darjeeling tea per year, making it as precious as it is exceptional.
Darjeeling SFTGFOP1 – Piag Tea in a Hand-Finished Tin
Composition: 100% whole-leaf black tea
Flavor Profile: Often described as floral, fruity, and muscatel with a delicate astringency. Some find fresh, honeyed notes with hints of peach or grape — a complex bouquet that makes Darjeeling truly unforgettable.
Wellness Benefits: Black tea offers a wealth of health-supporting properties. Naturally energizing thanks to its theine content, it sharpens focus and concentration. Rich in antioxidants, it helps protect the body from free radicals and supports long-term well-being.
Packaging: Our Darjeeling by Piag Tea comes in a beautifully designed tin, created by illustrator and designer Katarzyna Korzeniowska. Each tin is carefully wrapped and finished by hand, making it not just a tea, but a piece of art for your kitchen. Everything we do, we do with love
Darjeeling SFTGFOP1
If sages of the world have declared Darjeeling the champagne of teas, then there’s only one thing left for us to do — celebrate life’s finest moments with a cup of this extraordinary brew. But then again, why wait for special occasions to treat our senses? Why shouldn’t we celebrate every single day? After all, that’s what life is truly about — finding beauty in the everyday, in the small things, in the simplest gestures. Let us choose that path.
As the Polish poet Edward Stachura once wrote:
"I went to sleep in the evening and woke up in the morning. Isn’t that one of the most beautiful sentences in the world? Dazzling, radiant, blinding in its simplicity. How could I not notice it before? How many times have I spoken this ordinary phrase without realizing, without knowing, blind to the fact that it describes a miracle — the miracle of life itself."
May this sense of wonder at everyday life never leave you. Celebrate the beauty of the ordinary — with Darjeeling.
For the curious connoisseurs
Darjeeling tea originates from the Indian region of the same name, nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas. Grown at altitudes between 600 and 2,000 meters above sea level, in mineral-rich soil and a cool, misty climate with abundant rainfall, the tea bushes thrive in truly exceptional conditions. Darjeeling is one of the most prized teas in the world, admired for its unique taste and aroma, earning it the nickname “the champagne of teas.” Its character is shaped by several factors:
· Varietals: While the region grows mainly a hybrid of Camellia sinensis var. sinensis x assamica, other cultivars are also used — each contributing distinct flavor profiles.
· Traditional cultivation: Many Darjeeling estates are small, sustainably run, and rely on careful hand-picking of leaves, often several times a year, ensuring exceptional quality.
· Delicate processing: Every stage — withering, oxidation, and drying — is meticulously controlled to preserve the tea’s signature elegance and fragrance.
· Taste and aroma: Darjeeling’s flavor depends on the harvest season — the renowned First Flush, Second Flush, or Autumn Flush — and the cultivar used.
The grade SFTGFOP1 stands for “Super Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe One” — a mark of excellence:
· SFTG: Super Fine Tippy Golden – premium golden buds.
· FOP: Flowery Orange Pekoe – fine, rolled leaves.
· 1: Denotes the very highest grade, indicating carefully hand-picked, meticulously selected leaves.

Science and Tea
Since we’ve already soaked up a fair bit of knowledge, how about a little more? Did you know that Albert Einstein loved drinking strong black tea? It’s true. And as you might guess, even while enjoying a cup of tea, the great scientist couldn’t resist turning it into an experiment. A scientist isn’t something you become—it’s something you are. Einstein is credited with the so-called “tea leaf paradox.”
While stirring his tea, he noticed something fascinating: instead of being pushed to the edges of the cup by centrifugal force, the tea leaves gathered right in the middle. This led him to conclude that the liquid circulates inside the cup in a spiral motion. Along the walls and bottom, friction slows the flow, reducing the centrifugal force and lowering the pressure. As a result, the liquid moves downward at the sides and upward in the center—leaving the leaves neatly clustered in the middle of the cup. Who would have thought that something as simple as drinking tea could spark such ideas?
Tea truly has the power to stir both body and mind.
