HistoryGoppion Caffe is a company founded in 1859 by Luigi Goppion, who, as a young boy, dreamed of opening his own roastery after smelling freshly roasted coffee beans for the first time. The story of Goppion Caffe began with a café established in the market square of a small town near Treviso, close to Venice. Inspired by their grandfather's passion, his grandchildren continued his work and even started opening cafés in other countries. Discover

More about the product
Black Tea from the Heart of Africa
An incredibly flavorful black tea from the “Land of a Thousand Hills” — as Rwanda is so often called. These beautiful, long dark leaves, tipped with copper highlights that shimmer like rays of the African sun, come from the Rukeri garden, cultivated on former eucalyptus marshlands. Here, tea thrives in ideal conditions: mineral-rich volcanic soil, abundant sunshine, and generous rainfall. The dry leaves carry a sweet, inviting aroma, while the infusion reveals a rich, honeyed sweetness with notes of dried fruit. Who hasn’t dreamed of an adventure in Africa?
Every cup of this tea is a sip of discovery — the best days are still ahead.

For the Curious Connoisseurs
The Rukeri tea plantation lies in Rwanda’s Nyamagabe district and is among the country’s highest, set at elevations of 2,200 to 2,500 meters above sea level. Covering 2,200 hectares and employing around 3,000 people, Rukeri is both a vital part of Rwanda’s economy and a fascinating destination for visitors from around the globe. The climate here is perfect for tea: warm, with generous rainfall year-round and nutrient-rich soil that nourishes the bushes. Several tea varieties are cultivated, including Assam, Chinary, and Rwandan strains. Rukeri tea is renowned for its outstanding quality. The leaves are hand-picked and processed using traditional methods before being exported worldwide — a true taste of Rwanda in every cup.
If You Enjoy Tea Stories...
In the Heart of Africa
In the heart of Africa, where the sun caresses the land and the wind whispers tales of old, the green hills of Rwanda stretch endlessly into the horizon. Among lush forests and majestic mountains lies a secret known as African Paradise – Rwanda Rukeri. According to legend, centuries ago there lived a tribe called the Abahutu. They were known for living in harmony with nature and for their deep respect for its gifts. One year, a devastating drought swept through Rwanda, pushing the tribe to the brink of despair. In her sorrow, the queen of the Abahutu climbed the highest mountain and prayed to the gods for help. In answer to her plea appeared a radiant woman named Nyabinghi — the spirit of tea and guardian of Africa’s hidden treasures. She gave the queen a seedling of tea with extraordinary powers. Nyabinghi told her: “If your people nurture this plant and share its gift with others, the drought will end, and Rwanda will flourish once more.”
The Abahutu joyfully accepted the blessing. They planted the tea on the mountain slopes and built their settlement around it. With great care, they tended the plant, brewing from its leaves an infusion of enchanting taste and aroma. Soon the rains returned, the soil grew fertile again, and Rwanda blossomed. Word of the miraculous tea spread across Africa. People traveled from far and wide to taste its magic and feel its life-giving energy. From then on, Rwanda’s black tea became a symbol of hope, vitality, and happiness.
